My name is Dan from leeds and the proud owner of a 1989 Fiat 126 Bis with an Italian flag go faster stripe!  thumbs

This i my first car and my m8s either love it or h8 it (they're the jealous ones) done all the work on it myself with the my dad watching over my shoulder now just playing with the carburettor, any tips?

i know i've not seen one since my mum had on 10years ago!

mines still in my garage like i said carb problems i think just wont start now!  Sad

It probably just wants cleaning out, Have checked that petrol is getting to the carb Huh?

i've got it off and cleaning it making the house stink of petrol  redface and i've replaced all liquids, brake fluid was almost solid and washer bottles were balck dont think it had been driven for a good 5+ years!!!

How many turns should i put on the mixture i've always thought 1 1/2?

well this is the story:

it used to run and start after a few tries i'd drive it but when i pressed the accellorator it'd take a few seconds to pick up then after about 10-15mins would stop and not start again 

any advice please!   help help help

OK if it has been standing for that long has all the old petrol been flushed out ? Do you have an online filter ? 10 to 15 mins run may suggest that something on the electrics is overheating. Check out as many electrical connections & earths as you can .  thumbs

First thing i did to give him some fresh juice! i've put an inline filter in n the lil filter in the carb was full of crap gonna get it on 2night n hopefully he'll b purring away again! oh btw he's called Geno!
